Dance Party in the BART Plaza
June 16, 2007

On a Saturday night, the 24th Street BART station plaza was taken over by a dance party.

A hundred or so people came together for FlashDance 7 - the latest semi-regular San Francisco Flashmob dance party. Many of the dancers knew what they were getting into, and dressed funky for the occasion, while others were just passing by and joined the fun.

This is the drawing of the week for June 10-16, 2007.

Another quick sketch from FlashDance 7, an impromptu dance party at the 24th Street BART station plaza. Amandeep Jawa DJ's at this semi-regular free public party that he also organizes. He's playing music over a new sound system that is still not powerful enough for him.

Birth of L'il Ray
January 18, 2007
marker and pencil on paper, 5" x 7"

Students came all the way from Gratton Elementary School to visit 826 Valencia Street. Chad led the group in asking for ideas as they collectively wrote a story about L'il Ray, a living book who lived on the planet Neopia and needed to reconnect with his family who were imprisoned by pigs and a mutant monkey in a library. Each individual student will finish their own story in their own copy of the book published on site by the mysterious "Hand of Doom".

Then they can take a few moments to browse in the Pirate Store out front.
