Circus Contraption Amazes at CELLspace
February 19, 2005
acrylic on canvas, 3' x 3.5'

Circus Contraption performs the "Grand American Traveling Dime Museum" at CELLspace in August of 2004.

The music of this one-ring circus is fantastic (the troupe built around the band), the stunts are dupefying, and the humor is ripe. And they're all wonderful people.

This image is not a great reproduction of the painting - I'll work on taking a better photo.

War is in the Air, People are in the Streets 3
December 18, 2004
acrylic on canvas, 11" x 14" (sold)

from a photo by Lauren Girardin taken on March 20, 2003.

In the aftermath of Bush's reelection, we need to remember how millions of people around the world united in unprecedented mass protest against his policies. Remember that?
Lauren describes the mood well on her site, Eat, Drink, Protest.

This is the drawing of the week for December 12 to 18, 2004.

This was the view from my old apartment in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. Steve Blackburn, my anarchist friend, gave me this plant when he left town for law school.
