Subsitute Teacher Artist

As a substitute teacher working with the San Francisco Unified School District (request #14927), I often take the opportunity to engage the students in some collaborative art projects.

This painting represents several classes at Galileo Academy for Art and Technology working on some free form exquisite corpse style stories and drawings. Many of the students' writings and drawings have been collaged into this painting.

This painting is also a part of the "Where We Learn" series.

A More Green Market Street

This is a painting of Market Street guided by the imagination of randomly selected San Franciscans who contributed drawings and ideas about our cities main artery. This process can be seen in the "Market Street Project" topic gallery.

There were quite a few people who favored turning Market Street into a waterway and many more who wanted the street to be "greener" in a variety of ways.

I collaged these contributions onto the sides of the canvas and included some of the kiosk poster designs in the corners.
