A singer at the SMiLE Christmas party at The Knock Out. It was a lovely party, with a long list of musicians stepping up to play a holiday song or three and . Neil Martinson spinning the classics you may have forgotten you loved.

Make Me performs at The Knockout in the old Odeon Bar space in the Mission.

The band rocked pretty solid, then the drummer just walked off the stage and out the door - and didn't come back! A friend of the band filled in and they played a few more songs.

This was all part of DJ Neil Martinson's weekly Monday night jam, Smile, which recently moved from the Hush Hush.

I've found you can rely on DJ Neil Martinson's Smile event Monday nights at The Knockout in the Deep Mission. On this night, Make Me rocked pretty solid, then Martinson spinned the danceable rock mix that made him famous.

They might not do it very well, but what The Tricks do is terrific. They play gritty punk rock, and when they play they mean it.

I saw them at 'Smile' - a Monday night fine music showcase at The Knockout (formerly the Odeon) in the Deep Mission.
